Water & light

Inspiration

The Ty Nant bottle is the most amazing every day object to show the beauty of water and its influence on light: refraction & reflection

"Charmed by Ross Lovegrove's Ty Nant water bottle,
Hepting took the everyday item to create an homage
design to this humble object. Hepting, who has worked
at Ingo Maurer's studio, used LED's to create the lamp.
At its time of launch the Japanese designer Tokujin
Yoshioka remarked of the bottle, "Regardless of the
fact that the bottle is an everyday consumer product,
it is a masterpiece whose poetic and sensual elements
reveal it to be a signature Ross Lovegrove design."

Poetry

Ready Made

appreciation of a consumer product

“The everyday object, alienated from its purpose and lit from underneath, becomes visible by its artistic staging and is  literally meant to highlight the beauty of the forms of water"

.

Auctioned off at "Design Art" by Philips de Pury, New York, June 2006, "Höhepunkte der Design Geschichte" by Quittenbaum , Munich, November 2006, & Art Curial, Paris, June 2007.

reflection & refraction

Light

The light beams of a small LED, white or blue, penetrate the water and create exciting effects and light reflections. The light source itself remains completely invisible.
